The school shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School and the murder of 17 people should’ve never happened. The killer was known to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. They were called to his home 39 time and did nothing. I don’t understand why no one is holding Sheriff Israel accountable for this. The killer was also reported to the FBI twice. The FBI admits they were called about the killer and has simply said they didn’t follow their protocol. But no one is holding Sheriff Israel or the FBI accountable. Sheriff Israel is a Democrat and it shows. Despite the fact that his deputies were called to Cruz’s house 39 where they did nothing, the Sheriff deflected and denied any responsibility for doing nothing about Cruz at the CNN Townhall on gun grabbing. The so called CNN Townhall wasn’t about trying to find a solution to school shootings, it was all about banning guns. The liberals want to bring back the so called “assault weapons” ban. The last “assault weapons” ban had little to no effect on crime according to a Justice Department Report that was published after the ban expired in 2004.
A so called “assault weapon” is a semi-auto rifle with one or more cosmetic features, like a pistol grip. If you take the pistol grip off that same rifle, it is no longer an “assault weapon.” There is no difference in the way a rifle functions whether it has a pistol grip or not. In other words liberals want to ban guns that look scary. It’s typical style over substance liberalism. Banning guns is not the answer. Timothy McVeigh used fertilizer and a U-Haul truck to murder 168 people in Oklahoma City. Should we ban fertilizer and U-Haul trucks? Terrorists used airplanes to murder nearly 3,000 people on September 11, 2001. Should we ban airplanes? According to the FBI in 2016, 1,064 people were murdered with knives while 374 people were killed by rifles. Should we ban knives?
Next the liberal gun grabbers and Republicans like Senator Rubio (R-FL) want to raise the age to purchase rifles and shotguns to age 21. These politicians are saying a person 18-20 years of age are not mature enough to own a firearm. Which says to me 18-20 year-olds are not mature enough to join the military or vote until age 21. The Las Vegas shooter was 64 years old. Should we pass a law making it illegal for anyone under 65 years of age to own a firearm?
The Country of Israel solved their school shooting problem years ago. This is the only common sense approach that has been proven to work. Of course far left liberal Randi Weingarten head of the AFT Union has come out against arming teachers. Randi isn’t interested in an idea that has proven to work in Israel for decades. Randi is a water carrier for the Democrat Party and is in total lock step with their radical agenda. Meaning Randi is part of the problem. Proving once again Randi has failed our children.
